BLACK SABBATH: Connecticut Signing Session Announced

April 26, 2007

BLACK SABBATH/HEAVEN AND HELL guitarist Tony Iommi's web site has been updated with the following message:

"We can confirm that Tony, Ronnie (James Dio),Geezer (Butler) and Vinny (Appice) will be signing copies of the new [SABBATH] CD, 'The Dio Years', at the Spin Street Stage located in the Shops at Mohegan Sun Concourse immediately following the sold-out show at the Mohegan Sun Arena on May 15th in Uncasville, CT.

"Please note that due to the short time frame of both events and the huge numbers of fans expected, the band will only be signing copies of their new CD. No memorabilia of any kind will be signed and no personalised photos can be allowed so as to allow the most fans possible to meet the band. This rule will be strictly enforced with no exceptions.

"The first 500 fans to purchase 'The Dio Years' at Spin Street in the Shops at Mohegan Sun will receive a limited-edition collector's item laminated 'After Show' pass with lanyard which will guarantee a place in line to meet the band."

For more details, contact Chris Hunt, general manager of Spin Street, at (860) 862 7664.

Iommi recently told Launch that he is thrilled with SABBATH's latest release, which spotlights the time when Ronnie James Dio was the singer. In addition to a selection of material from the past, "Black Sabbath: The Dio Years" also has three new songs that were written in the last few months for the project. Iommi told Launch that he's happy to showcase Dio's contribution to the SABBATH legacy in this fashion, and the band is also thrilled to have new material to play live. "I think it's great, because this era of the band — certainly since we've been back with Ozzy (Osbourne) — 10 years of not really hearing about this lineup," he said. "And a lot of people have asked about doing an album, and I think it's great now that we can actually go out and play these tracks, and have an album out again of these tracks, with some fresher stuff."

"Black Sabbath: The Dio Years" sold almost 21,000 copies in its first week out, putting it at Number 54 on the Billboard 200 chart.

HEAVEN AND HELL recently finished up a series of dates that took them across Canada and ended with a DVD shoot at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
